How about having your hair done and your beard trimmed on an American school bus? The Daddy’s bus, located in Saint-Jeannet, has been open since this fall. You cannot miss the yellow bus, located above the stadium of the municipality and which houses a real hair salon. Its owner, Micka, a barber by profession, spent more than 10 months completely restoring the vehicle.
A unique bus in France
The bus, which Micka brought from the United States by boat, is a 1984 model. Micka completely transformed him. Two armchairs are installed at the front of the bus and a shampoo basin at the back. Several shelves for storing barber equipment: clippers, brushes, hair dryers, as in a traditional salon. The decor immerses customers in a true American atmosphere.

“We are not far from an investment as if we wanted to create a hairdressing salon in an empty room, says Micka. Here, the biggest expense is the purchase of the vehicle.” And for good reason, there is no market for this type of bus in France. Prices vary between 10,000 and 70,000 euros. “Clearly, if tomorrow someone is interested in franchising, we are on an investment of around 75,000 euros.” Micka’s atypical barbershop is starting to be profitable. Customers are always more numerous, between 15 and 20 per day. So Micka decided to hire an apprentice, Felix.

Installed above the Saint-Jeannet stadium, the Daddy’s barbershop is open Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
