Singer-songwriter Daniel Bélanger is leaving Audiogram to join Secret City Records.

” [L’alliance entre Daniel Bélanger et Secret City] began in the very first days of the new year, and will materialize for the public with the release of Daniel Bélanger’s next album. The entire Secret City Records team is thrilled and honored by this news and looks forward to contributing to the next success of the renowned singer-songwriter,” the record label announced in a press release.
Daniel Bélanger thus leaves Audiogram, the record company with which he has collaborated throughout his career, from his first album Insomniacs have funpublished in 1992.
Note that Audiogram was co-founded in 1984 by the musician’s brother, Michel Bélanger. The box, however, passed into the hands of the giant Quebecor in the winter of 2021 in order to ensure the sustainability of its mission.
“Audiogram is extremely proud and grateful for the path traveled with Daniel Bélanger, and we continue to showcase his magnificent catalog,” wrote Alixe Hennessy Dubuc, label director at Audiogram, in an email to The Press. The new association between the singer-songwriter and Secret City only concerns the musician’s upcoming works.
Secret City Records, meanwhile, has been in the music business for fifteen years. The record label founded in 2006 to launch Patrick Watson’s debut album now includes Alexandra Stréliski, Klô Pelgag, Plants and Animals, Chilly Gonzales, The Barr Brothers and dozens of others.
