The destination favored by the Petry family

It’s a safe bet that the Dallas Stars are Jeff Petry’s favorite destination.

And Petry can be linked in several ways to the Texan team, as journalist Renaud Lavoie pointed out on Wednesday on TVA Sports.

First, the son of Stars general manager Jim Nill played with Petry at the University of Michigan in the NCAA. The architect of the Stars has therefore known Petry for a long time.

“Also let’s not forget that Jeff Petry’s wife, Julie, is originally from Houston, Texas. Dallas is probably the destination the family would choose,” said Renaud Lavoie.

The problem, however, is that Petry is handcuffing his general manager, Kent Hughes, by performing poorly this season.

“He probably has his worst moments in the National Hockey League,” Lavoie said. If that doesn’t change by the trade deadline, it would be surprising if he was traded.”

Is Lafrenière against the Rangers’ plans?

In addition, in New York, an emergence of Alexis Lafrenière could counter the plans of Rangers general manager Chris Drury.

Drury would like to add, by trade, a power forward to the 1st line composed of Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider.

However, Lafrenière did well recently when he was paired with the two players. The Quebecer has shaken the strings during the last two Rangers meetings.

Drury would like to repatriate a former Rangers striker, but will he change his mind?

“JT Miller is really the one we want to acquire, but if Alexis plays this way, maybe it won’t happen,” explained Renaud Lavoie.
