A piano teacher at the conservatory of Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), aged around sixty, was indicted on Tuesday February 1 on charges of “rape” and “sexual assault”, reports France Bleu Béarn Bigorre. It is a former student, now a young adult, who filed a complaint last April. She denounces facts suffered when she was less than ten years old.
The professor was arrested on Monday at his home, after several months of investigation. While in police custody, he denied the facts denounced by this young woman. According to her, it was during decentralized courses in municipal premises in the agglomeration of Pau, in 2007, that the facts took place.
The man was released on Tuesday after his indictment, under judicial supervision. He is currently prohibited from practicing his profession with minors. There is only one alleged victim at this stage of the investigation. Other former students were heard, and the indicted has no criminal record.
