This is indicated by the most recent data from Quebec on the subject published on Tuesday. This is 3.5% of students across the province.

In primary school, 31,809 students are isolated, while 14,541 in secondary school.

There are also 57,400 students absent for reasons other than COVID-19, according to these same figures from Quebec, or 4.2% of students.

Among teachers, there are 4,538 absentees, or 1.9%. Of this number, 1300 teach at a distance.

The number of closed classes has increased compared to the previous report. There were 118 closed classes on January 28, compared to 96 three days earlier.

However, the Quebec figures paint an incomplete portrait of the situation in the schools, since the percentage is established according to the total number of students and teachers in the province.

However, in the public network, the response rate to the government’s probe is 93%. It is 88% in the private network.
