Marjaurie Côté-Boileau, the press attaché to the Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, tried on Tuesday to interrupt a press briefing by her father, the acting national director of public health, Luc Boileau, despite measures to precaution in this type of situation.
The press secretary urged the interim national director of health to go to the Prime Minister’s office in a nearby building.
“Excuse me, Mr. Boileau has just finished a press briefing. You can go to the Prime Minister’s office,” she said, trying to intervene.
Mr. Boileau, however, continued to answer questions about the procedures for administering booster doses to people who have been infected with COVID-19.
The minister’s office recently told the Duty that arrangements had been made when an opinion from Ethics Commissioner Ariane Mignolet was sought.
“We have taken the initiative that Marjaurie Côte-Boileau no longer hosts press conferences where Dr. Boileau is present, and that she is not involved in discussions concerning Dr. Boileau’s media relations either”, had indicated the communications advisor, Amélie Paquet, last week.
