Premier François Legault is due to provide an update on COVID-19 in Quebec on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, and the acting national director of public health, Dr. Luc Boileau.

The press conference will take place at the National Assembly since it is parliamentary day in Quebec.

It also comes the day after the entry into force of new sanitary relaxations in the province. Restaurant dining rooms have reopened, small private gatherings are allowed again and young athletes have been able to resume their extracurricular activities. Some media are reporting that the Prime Minister will take the opportunity on Tuesday to announce that he is abandoning the idea of ​​imposing a “health contribution” on those who have not been vaccinated and that he will announce additional relief, including the reopening of theaters. workout and return to sport for adults.

Hospitalizations have been falling for a few days in Quebec. Monday’s report counted 2,888 hospitalizations linked to COVID-19.
