Nearly 22 months after the introduction of the first health rules, new data shed light on the perception that Quebecers have of them.
The INSPQ has published for the first time a survey “on the attitudes and behavior of Quebec adults” by adding membership in the “health contribution” offered by Quebec.
The measure seems to be approved by a majority, with nearly 60% of respondents saying they are in favor of its introduction.
This survey was conducted among 3,300 Quebec adults between January 7 and 19, 2022.
A second survey by the polling firm Angus Reid published on Monday also sheds new light on the pandemic.
First observation: the fifth wave has definitely hit very hard. Indeed, one in four Quebec households (25%) has recorded at least one case of COVID-19 within its walls since December 1. This statistic is the highest in the country. “At least” 14% of the Canadian population would have contracted the disease in two months.
The peak of contamination having probably passed, a majority (54%) of Canadians consider that the sanitary rules must end, continues the non-profit firm, an increase of 15 percentage points compared to an equivalent survey dating from the beginning of the month of January.
