Ségolène Royal, former Minister of Ecology, is the guest of the “4 Truths” of France 2, Tuesday 1er February.

Christiane Taubira was designated by the Popular Primary to wear the colors of the left. Does it have increased legitimacy? “Legitimacy will be to whoever succeeds in bringing the left together. There are a few weeks left before the fateful date for the deposit of 500 sponsorships”, explains Ségolène Royal, former Minister of Ecology, guest of the “4 Truths” of France 2, Tuesday 1er February.

Wasn’t the popular Primary able to help clarify the situation? “There are two limits. There were no debates, but in a participatory democracy there are necessarily debates before the choices. Secondly, we have no visibility on the people who came to vote, their geographical distribution, their sociological profile”, develops the former Minister of Ecology.

Is the political situation of the left at risk in the light of the presidential and legislative elections? “If its political leaders do not understand that there is an aspiration among left-wing voters for union, it is because they are not up to their responsibilities. If they are not capable of having enough wisdom to form an alliance at the time of the presidential election, it will be a Berezina for these parties at the time of the legislative elections”, believes Ségolène Royal.
