After having crunched New Zealand and South Africa during the autumn tour, the French women of Annick Hayraud set out again to conquer a title which has eluded them since 2018: the Six Nations tournament. To prepare for this competition, which will be played from March 27 to April 30, the staff communicated an initial list of 38 names on Monday January 31. The players selected will leave for an internship in Bastia (Haute-Corse) from February 7 to 15.

Among the elected, we find without surprise the six Tricolores named in the XV of the year by World Rugby: Annaëlle Deshayes, Agathe Sochat, Safi N’Diaye, Laure Sansus, Caroline Drouin and Caroline Boujard. In addition to the indestructible Audrey Forlani, Gäelle Hermet or Pauline Bourdon, nine players from the France pole have also been selected.

“We will be able to project ourselves on our Six Nations Tournament which will start on March 27 in Grenoble and train in optimal conditions, explained Annick Hayraud on the website of the French Rugby Federation.

“With 38 players called up, including nine players from the Pôle France, we will also be able to take stock of our group and the state of form of each one. This step is very important for us in the construction of our season”, continues manager. A season that will conclude with the World Cup in New Zealand next October.
