The municipal election in Menton will be entitled to a second round on Sunday February 6. The vote for the first round, this Sunday, was to decide between five candidate lists. As expected, a duel took shape between two former assistants of Jean-Claude Guibal, the mayor who died last October. This is the list “Menton pour tous” by Yves Juhel, which comes first with 35.23% of the votes cast, just ahead of the list of ex-first assistant Sandra Paire, at 33.01% for “Unis pour Menton” (LR).
But it will not be a duel in the second round since another list obtains more than 10% of the votes cast, that of Anthony Malvault (various right, RN candidate for the departmental). His “Menton avec vous” list gets 18.50% in this first round. At the question possible alliances for the second round, Yves Juhel is clear: no. “I will submit the exact same listhe says. My only party is Menton, I didn’t go running to look for labels right and left.” A disguised tackle to her opponent Sandra Paire who indicates that she is giving herself time to think and adds that “Menton is at a crossroads.“
