The Stade niçois is unstoppable at the start of the year. After solid victories against Blagnac and Albi, the Rouge et Noir won 38-18 this Sunday against Soyaux Angoulême, second in this National championship. A third success in a row for David Bolgashvili’s men which allows the Azureans to consolidate their place in the Top 6, qualifying for the final stages.
Unleashed Nice people
The first points come out of the feet of the openers. 9-6 for the Niçois at the half-hour mark. Then the Rouge et Noir soared to the score thanks to two tries before half-time. First thanks to a personal achievement by Saki at the end of the line (16-6 / 34th). Then on a collective effort rewarded by a ball flattened behind the line by the Nice maul (23-6 / 40th). When they returned from the locker room, the Charentais picked up with a converted try (26-13 / 53rd). But there was no question of being won over by doubt and the Nice pack gave it a try with a second collective try in this part (31 – 13 / 70th). After another try from the visitors, it was finally the red and black captain, like a symbol, who closed the scoring with the last try of this prolific party (38-18 / 78th).
Three week break
With this success, Stade Nice is nine points behind its evening opponent, who remains second in the standings, and four points behind Chambéry (5th). Next meeting in three weeks on the lawn of Bourgoin-Jallieu.
