Jean-Pierre Castaldi has a nice career to his credit in the world of the seventh art. There are many roles through which he managed to make an impression. Unfortunately for him, the actor had to make up his mind about the sudden end of his film career despite fifty years of career. “It’s been maybe 20 years since I was offered a role. I disappeared from the radar. I’m not in the new movement… that’s how it is, times change”, he apologized at the microphone of Nice-Matin Mag. “It’s true that I would like to make a film again, but hey…”, he admitted.
Even if he did not expect it to happen like this for him, Jean-Pierre Castaldi has more than one trick up his sleeve regarding filming anecdotes. He pursues: “I remember a scene with Jean Rochefort in the film We will all go to paradise. He slaps me but for Yves Robert it was wrong? So I said to him: go ahead and hit. one so strong that I came close to returning it!”.
That said, Jean-Pierre Castaldi was able to find a way to remedy his bitterness by going to the theater as he revealed to our colleagues during the performance, at the Galli Theater in Sanary, of the play “What a family !”.
Indeed, this has allowed the actor to continue to play comedy as he loves to do for several decades now. But it doesn’t just serve him to make up for it all. He explains: “With this troupe it’s almost a family, I’m having a blast, it’s like at the theater tonight. From the boulevard to the right musicality. Rhythmic, funny without a swear word (…) I immediately say yes. Even at 77. Because when the curtain goes up, I no longer have pain anywhere. On stage I feel like I’m 20. The game keeps me on my feet. The love of the spectators too “.
At least that has the merit of being clear. In any case, Jean-Pierre Castaldi is in better shape than ever. The actor is not likely to get bored anytime soon. And who knows, maybe the message sent in this interview will allow him to remedy his greatest regret.
