The Eastern REM disfigures

This morning again, the pages of Duty present the changes envisaged to the route of the REM de l’Est in the very eastern part of the island, in response to protests by locals.

Once again, there is no question of the part of the REM that will touch the Centre-Sud on boulevard René-Lévesque Est, from De Lorimier.

Given the demographic composition of this portion of the route, it seems much more difficult to mobilize people to denounce the planned advent of an elevated route disfiguring this important artery of Montreal.

I therefore invite once again the Mayor and the City Councilor of Ville-Marie to speak out publicly against this future plague that will hurt this important sector of Ville-Marie.

I also appeal to these major institutions that line this same boulevard: Radio-Canada, Saint-Pierre-Apôtre parish, UQAM, Center Desjardins, Center Guy-Favreau…

When will all these fine people wake up and make their recriminations heard loud and clear, denouncing the serious problems linked to this Eastern REM in its current design?
