“The reason why I call this press conference, it’s to discuss what happened on December 30, specifically the trip from Montreal to Mexico, ”said James William Awad first.
All the Quebec press and several Canadian media showed up at this press briefing, where an associate of the controversial young businessman, Sarah Anton, threatened to expel the journalists if they tried to obtain complete answers.
James Awad then blamed Sunwing, Air Canada and Air Transat for abandoning 154 people in Mexico, when the airlines refused to board his guests for the return. Images of them violating many health and safety rules then ignited the web.
“You really should be ashamed, Sunwing, Air Canada and Air Transat. At the moment we are in development for a lawsuit for breach of contract against Sunwing, ”he said, repeating what he had already announced on social networks.
However, the lawsuit would still not be filed, according to his explanations. Sunwing did not respond to questions from The Press at time of publishing, neither Air Canada nor Air Transat.
Immediately after this declaration, James Awad took advantage of the presence of numerous media at his “head office” in the borough of Saint-Laurent to publicize his 111 Private Club, at the heart of the incident with Sunwing.
Quebecor’s LCN channel chose to broadcast the press conference live.
Installed in front of six Canadian, Quebec and American flags, James Awad was seated at a table in front of nearly a dozen media microphones.
A journalist pointed out to him that this arrangement was usually recommended for meetings with heads of government and asked him if he intended to stand in any elections.
“Not at the moment,” he replied with a smirk. I don’t intend to be in politics for the moment, but in the future, you never know. »
Unlike most campaigning politicians, however, James Awad did not provide a clear explanation of where his wealth came from. At 28, she has allowed him to buy more than 17 million in real estate since 2019 and an impressive collection of luxury cars.
