COVID-19: Quebec reports 73 new deaths

Quebec reports Wednesday 73 deaths attributable to COVID-19 as well as a slight drop in hospitalizations.

There are thus 3,270 hospitalizations, a decrease of eight compared to Tuesday. Eleven fewer people are in intensive care, or 252.

The Ministry of Health reports 4,150 new cases, a number that is not representative of the situation, however, since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles. The balance sheet is 845,564 cases and 13,009 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

A total of 30,163 analyzes were performed on Tuesday, and Quebec has a positivity rate of 11.8%.

Regarding vaccination, 80,131 doses were administered in the last 24 hours in Quebec. The Ministry of Health says 2,272 people received a first dose on Tuesday and that 41% of those aged 5 and over have now received their third dose.
