(Montreal) Two people lost their lives and two others are in hospital, including one in critical condition, after being victims of poisoning in a house in Venise-en-Québec, in Montérégie.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) reports that a 62-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman lost their lives. The person in critical condition is an 80-year-old man while a 52-year-old woman is in stable condition.
Police are investigating the possibility that an emanation of a deadly substance felled the four people from the same family while they were in the house on Tuesday evening.
The SQ was called around 9 p.m. to go to the house located on 23and East Ave. A few hours later, the thesis of the criminal act was discarded to explain the drama, which therefore seems to be of an accidental nature.
The cause of the emanation had not yet been established Wednesday morning.
An analysis of the deadly substance will be carried out by the authorities.
