He needed five rounds, but Daniil Medvedev finally got the better of Félix Auger-Aliassime, thus advancing to the semi-finals of the Australian Open.
The Russian overcame the Quebecer with a score of 6-7 (4-7), 3-6, 7-6 (7-2), 7-5 and 6-4.
Despite a strong start to the match from Auger-Aliassime, the second seed was therefore able to turn the tide to win over the ninth seed in this tournament.
Medvedev will now face Stefanos Tsitsipas in order to secure a place in the final. The Greek player, seeded fourth, earlier defeated the Italian Jannik Sinner (11th) in three sets of 6-3, 6-4 and 6-2.
The other semi-final pits Rafael Nadal (6th) against Matteo Berrettini (7th).
