The government has just announced a new gesture to reduce the fuel bill. This tax gesture concerns 2.5 million French households. Anne Hidalgo has a different solution, lowering the VAT on fuel by 20% at 5.5%. “First, we must think of our fellow citizens who are in great difficulty (…) ecology cannot be opposed to the purchasing power and the quality of life of the French”, says Anne Hidalgo on the set from 20 hours.
Anne Hidalgo wants to get out of nuclear power without a hasty exit so as not to drive up the price of electricity. “I subscribe to the reports that are made in France, which are very serious, which program different scenarios. One of them is betting on 100% renewable energy and this is the choice I am making and which goes until 2050 (…) it would not make sense to abandon nuclear now, we has electricity needs that will increase”, continues Anne Hidalgo.
