Man arrested after walking around emergency room walls for 1.5 hours

A man was arrested last week at Cité-de-la-Santé in Laval after literally walking through the walls of the emergency room.

The forty-something would have fled the staff who watched him to go to the bathroom. This is where he would have climbed into the suspended ceiling before ending up in the walls of the hospital.

“It took the police more than an hour of searching to finally locate the individual inside the walls of the hospital,” said Laval Police Department spokeswoman Chantal Moreau.

The individual was arrested for mischief over $5,000. His file was submitted to the DPCP according to the police.

“We are working on a fix for this situation so that a similar thing never happens again in the hospital,” said the assistant director of the CISSS de Laval nursing department, Sébastien Rocheleau.
