Head coach Nick Nurse’s squad trailed by 34 points after two quarters. With 1 minute and 24 seconds left in the game, the Queen City club came within four points of their rivals, but was unable to finish the job. The visitors never trailed in this duel.
Pascal Siakam led the charge into the Raptors camp. The 27-year-old Cameroonian had 28 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Fred VanVleet scored 19 points. For his part, Montrealer Chris Boucher was used for 24 minutes. He had 11 points and nine rebounds.
For the Trail Blazers, Nassir Little, CJ McCollum and Anfernee Simons all had 19 points. Jusuf Nurkic also stood out with 11 rebounds.
The Raptors have suffered three losses in their last four outings. They will try to get back to winning ways on Tuesday night, when the Charlotte Hornets will be in the Ontario capital.
