“Adieu Paris”, the latest film by Édouard Baer, will be released in theaters on Wednesday January 26. A star-studded comedy full of nostalgia.
In Farewell Paris, Benoît Poelvoorde thought he was welcome at an annual meeting of somewhat has-been Parisian artists. It’s the cold shower, and the starting point of a comedy that highlights the Paris of bistros. “I am very much in admiration of the people of the generation before”, explains director Édouard Baer.
He therefore brought together actors he admires: rock Arditi, Bernard Lecoq, Daniel Prevost. A very masculine club, inspired by the showbiz years when Belmondo, Rochefort and Marielle spent their evenings arm in arm. The whimsical atmosphere was recreated by Édouard Baer, behind the camera for the third time in his career. “He really enjoys sharing a joy, a fear, an emotion”, emphasizes Benoît Poelvoorde. With this farce about the passage of time, Édouard Baer once again manages to make us laugh.
