Head coach Bruce Boudreau said Spencer Martin was placed on NHL COVID-19 protocols as Arturs Silovs of the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks tested positive for the virus.
Martin made his debut for the Canucks on Friday, helping his team steal a point from the Florida Panthers in a 2-1 shootout loss.
Goalkeeper Thatcher Demko and substitute Jaroslav Halak are already on COVID-19 protocols. Michael DiPietro is the lone goaltender available to start Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Blues.
Rylan Toth of the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds will act as emergency goaltender.
Assistant coaches Scott Walker and Kyle Gustafson were also added to the protocols, joining Canucks forwards Bo Horvat, Conor Garland and JT Miller.
