In a small village in the Alps, in Italy, Fausto, 40 years old and recently separated, returns to make his life in the mountains where he grew up.

Until then a writer, he was hired as a cook in a small restaurant frequented by seasonal workers and breeders. It is there that he meets Silvia, a young waitress who becomes his lover. With her, he rediscovers the pleasure of living in the mountains, marveling at the fact that a year earlier he was still arguing with his ex in an apartment in Milan.
The seasons pass and he puts his anchors in this part of the country, becoming attached to a singular former forest ranger and following this utopia which he nicknames the “live-where-you-are-happy”.
