While the number of intensive care patients is falling slightly, the number of new cases is still very high. Jean-Baptiste Marteau, journalist at France Télévisions takes stock of the situation.

Despite the 425,183 new cases in the last 24 hours, this Thursday, January 20, Jean Castex and Olivier Véran mentioned the lifting of restrictions. “We had to get out of this rather bad media sequence of the last few days and that’s why we took a risk by clearly displaying specific dates this evening”, analyzes Jean-Baptiste Marteau, journalist at France Télévisions.

With the lifting of restrictions comes a new constraint. “Next Monday, a new constraint will come into force, it is this famous vaccination pass. But when we think of this vaccination pass, all the energy, the battles that there were in the Assembly for nights, we say to ourselves ‘all that for that’. We will take the example of teleworking. In the law that has been passed, teleworking becomes compulsory three days a week under duress with possible fines as a result. “This is a point on which there has been a lot of debate and confrontation in the National Assembly. Except that teleworking comes into force next Monday and a week later it is abolished”, adds the journalist to France Télévisions.
