The Prime Minister is impatient with family physicians who are not taking care of enough patients. Mr. Legault thinks they should contribute more to the collective effort. The president of the Federation of general practitioners of Quebec, Dr Louis Godin explains it and his arguments are fair and acceptable. Our Prime Minister, however, does not seem offended by the fact that a very large number of family doctors take care of more than 1,500 patients! And yet, a total of 1,000 patients seems an acceptable threshold, according to his press secretary. I am certainly not a doctor, but I wonder a lot about the value of an annual medical consultation of 3 minutes and 37 seconds! Unfortunately, in my opinion, this is all that a doctor who has more than 1500 patients to his name can offer!
