The Canadian international headed to California in return for a million dollars in general allocation, a first-round pick in the 2025 draft and other compensation.
“Max came to see us and he had requests. Even though he was an important player for us, we made the decision to support him, as long as his value was taken into consideration in the trade,” said Whitecaps CEO and Sporting Director Axel Schuster.
Crépeau has spent the past four years on the west coast. Previously, he had been in the CF Montreal organization for six seasons. Over the past two years, he has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in MLS.
Her new team has already welcomed her with the message “Welcome Maxime Crépeau” on her Twitter page.
