Rapper Cardi B has announced that she will help pay for the funeral expenses of the victims of the terrible fire that killed 17 people in the New York district of the Bronx on January 9.

The Bronx-born singer also said she is partnering with the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, a non-profit organization that works closely with many city agencies in the American metropolis. Among the 17 victims were eight children. Last week, a couple who survived the tragedy filed a lawsuit against the building’s owners, claiming there were serious deficiencies in its upkeep.
