In high schools, it is the latest fashionable object. The puff, as it is called, is an electronic cigarette with a sweet and fruity taste reminiscent of confectionery. Teenage girls say their whole high school smokes it and it’s easy to get. This fashion effect was mainly propelled by social networks, where young people and influencers divulge their collection of cigarettes.

In electronic cigarette shops, the puff is rather affordable, between eight and twelve euros. An easy to use and disposable product. But behind this fruity product hides nearly 2% nicotine. “The main danger is the addiction to nicotine that it will trigger. (…) On young people, this addiction will develop very quickly”, warns Loïc Josserand, president of the Alliance Against Tobacco. The puffs are prohibited to minors, even if they recognize that they can easily obtain it on the Internet or in tobacconists.
