Eric Zemmour faces justice Monday, January 17. The candidate for the 2022 presidential election is on trial for incitement to hatred after his remarks on unaccompanied minor migrants.
Monday, January 17, Eric Zemmour is tried by the Paris Criminal Court for having described unaccompanied minor migrants as thieves, murderers and rapists. In duplex from the Paris courthouse, France Télévisions journalist Hugo Puffeney reports that “the prosecution is asking for Eric Zemmour to be fined 10,000 euros for having made his remarks on a television set a year ago. He even added, and I quote him: ‘they have nothing to do here, they have to be sent back and they shouldn’t even come’, he said..”
Already convicted twice for incitement to hatred, Eric Zemmour will not be present at the hearing according to his lawyer. Thursday, January 20, the polemicist is summoned “for another trial on appeal for a crime against humanity. He had maintained that Marshal Pétain had saved French Jews during the Second World War. He was acquitted at first instance“, specifies Hugo Puffeney.
