The president of the National Rally denounces “disproportionate restrictions on freedoms”.
“If we come to power, the vaccination pass will be abolished”, declared the president of the National Rally (RN), Jordan Bardella, Monday January 17 on franceinfo, the day after the final adoption of the bill which provides for this device. For him, “the vaccination pass is a political measure and not a health measure”. It is also said “Totally opposed to the idea of doing as the President of the Republic wishes, of pissing off the non-vaccinated”.

“We live in a state where we are now asking restaurateurs who are finding it increasingly difficult to work, to obtain supplies, to find employees, to find labour, to fulfill police and to check the identity documents of their customers, even though the municipal police do not have the right to carry out identity checks on French people”, he denounced. If he can identify the identity of an individual when he notices a contravention, a municipal police officer is not authorized to carry out identity checks.

“The question is: are these restrictions on freedoms proportionate or not?, asks Jordan Bardelle. In my view, they are disproportionate because [le variant] Omicron may be more contagious, but it’s far less dangerous than [le variant] Delta”, he added. For him, “you have to learn to live with it”.
