Normandy is one of the regions to visit in 2022, according to the New York Times. It is indeed part of the annual list of the 52 destinations to be traveled in priority according to the great American daily.

The New York Times draws nearly 3 million readers a day. And among them, there are as many potential tourists. Like every year, the American daily offers its list of destinations to visit. This year, a French region is there: Normandy. “The New York Times, there is no more influential newspaper in the United States, it can be a source of inspiration and encourage many Americans to come“, welcomes Michael Dodds, director of the Normandy regional tourism committee.

An American couple, who did not wait for the classification to spend holidays in the region, confides: “It’s impressive that they chose this region in particular, rather than highlighting the beaches of the Côte d’Azur or the castles of the Loire (…), it’s strange, but the region deserves it.” The New York Times praises the culinary heritage and the bike paths suitable for green tourism. Professionals in the sector are confident: this spotlight can bring in new customers. “I don’t want to put them in boxes, but Americans like to go to places that are recognized. They follow a lot what is said in the newspapers“, says Morgane Moré, deputy director of Normandy Sightseeing Tour.
