The call from the president of the Vitrines de Nancy on France Bleu Lorraine. Sébastien Duchowicz was the guest of France Bleu this Monday morning after a Saturday marked by new overflows during the anti-pass demonstration in the city center of Nancy.
A few days after a letter alerting the prefect, elected officials and the press to the trade situation in Nancy, the president of the Vitrines de Nancy asked the prefect of Meurthe-et-Moselle to receive the organizers of the Bloc Lorrain to negotiate a truce: ” we understand that the Bloc Lorrain is ready to make concessions and avoid demonstrations in the city center during the sales period, but if they are received by the Prefect and for the moment, it is an end of non- to receive. We made a press release on Friday and since then there has been radio silence from the prefecture“.
Sébastien Duchowicz asks the demonstrators for a break after two Saturdays marked by clashes: “we ask for a truce or a better organization of these demonstrations. It doesn’t bother us that they are demonstrating but we are asking for a new organization with a peaceful city center for Saturdays.”
A level in terms of violence against the security forces”
According to the president of the Vitrines de Nancy, the very reputation of the city center is at stake. This weekend, Mathieu Klein, the mayor of Nancy, had called for an emergency meeting after a demonstration which “has taken a step forward in terms of violence against the security forces“.
