The PQ leader took advantage of his time on the set of the show Everybody talks about it to announce the news.
“My reflection is over, I will present myself in the county of Bourget. Historically, it is the county of Camille Laurin, ”he answered a question from host Guy A. Lepage.
This riding is currently represented by Richard Campeau, a member of the Coalition avenir Québec. He also serves as parliamentary assistant to the Minister of the Environment and the Fight Against Climate Change.
Paul St-Pierre Plamondon maintained that his choice to seek the votes on the island of Montreal was intended to send an important message from his party in the fight for the protection of the French language in Quebec.
“The battle for the language is happening in Montreal,” he said. The Parti Québécois must be present in Montreal for the trend to change. »
He also referred to the era of the patriots, stating that it was necessary to remember that “Montréal is part of the national destiny of Quebecers” in their quest for “an emancipated society”.
