Like 18 departments in the East, Meurthe-et-Moselle passes into yellow vigilance, for risks of snow and ice on the roads. An alert valid from 12:00 this Sunday, January 16, and until Monday morning. The risk of slippery phenomena and drizzle is to be feared.
This disturbance will shift westward as the day progresses. On Monday morning, the risks of slippery phenomena linked to snow or freezing drizzle will only concern the Vosges mountains.
The prefecture details in a press release the evolution of the disturbance: “The risk concerns first of all the Ardennes from 12:00 p.m. (especially the eastern part and the Ardennes massif) then the Meuse, the west of Meurthe-et-Moselle and Moselle in the afternoon, while that a thaw wins from the west in the evening (…) The quantities of snow deposited on the ground will not exceed one centimeter in the plain and the low relief, possibly 2 to 3cm possible on the high points of the Ardennes massif and the Vosges high relief.”
