Roland Trettl Bids Farewell to Dance: A New Chapter Begins

Reality star Leyla Lahouar and singer Jeanette Biedermann returned to the stage after illness, while Roland Trettl was eliminated from ‘Let’s Dance’. The March 7 show featured performances themed ‘Disco meets Rock,’ with highlights including Biedermann’s emotional Slow Waltz earning 23 points and a Viennese Waltz by content creator selfiesandra scoring 21 points. Despite struggles, Trettl’s tango led to his exit, marking a pivotal moment in the competition.

Two Return, One Bids Farewell

In a dramatic turn of events, reality star Leyla Lahouar, 28, and singer Jeanette Biedermann, 45, made their return to the stage after being sidelined due to illness. However, for Roland Trettl, 53, the competition came to an end during the second live show of the current ‘Let’s Dance’ season on RTL. Despite the jury, featuring Jorge González, 57, Motsi Mabuse, 43, and Joachim Llambi, 60, showing some leniency, Trettl’s time on the dance floor has concluded.

A Night of Disco and Rock

The theme for the March 7 show was ‘Disco meets Rock’, and it kicked off with the self-proclaimed ‘Bavarian Latina’, Christine Neubauer, 62, alongside dance professional Valentin Lusin, 38. They dazzled the audience with a Cha-Cha-Cha to Irene Cara’s iconic track ‘Flashdance… What a Feeling’. Although Llambi felt Neubauer took the easy route, the jury was surprisingly generous, awarding them a total of 18 points.

Next up was stuntwoman Marie Mouroum, 32, who impressed dance partner Alexandru Ionel, 30, with her Paso Doble to ‘Come Together’ by The Beatles. Despite some critiques on her ability to express the music’s passion, she secured 19 points. Following them, Taliso Engel, 22, and Patricija Ionel, 30, attempted a Rumba to Rick Astley’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’, but faced challenges with timing, leading to only 9 points from the jury.

Ben Zucker, 41, and dancer Malika Dzumaev, 34, then took to the floor with Billy Idol’s ‘Rebel Yell’. Mabuse urged Zucker to pour his heart into the dance, and their performance was met with greater enthusiasm than the previous week, earning them 13 points. Meanwhile, Marc Eggers, 38, was advised by Renata Lusin, 37, to gain better control over his movements in his Cha-Cha-Cha, ultimately scoring 20 points.

As the competition heated up, Trettl faced a challenging tango paired with AC/DC’s ‘T.N.T.’, which resulted in a mere 15 points. In contrast, content creator selfiesandra, 25, and Zsolt Sándor Cseke, 37, wowed the audience with their Viennese Waltz, earning 21 points for their captivating performance. González praised their expressive display, calling it fun and emotional.

Influencer Paola Maria, 31, and Massimo Sinató, 44, showcased a tango to ‘Gasoline’ by Maneskin, receiving 16 points, while Leyla Lahouar voiced her struggles with the Charleston during practice. Despite her nerves, her performance impressed Mabuse, resulting in 15 points. Verona Pooth, 56, cheered on her son San Diego, 21, as he danced a Viennese Waltz to Bon Jovi’s ‘Bed of Roses’, earning 18 points after Llambi encouraged him to embrace the moment on the dance floor.

The highlight of the night came from Jeanette Biedermann and Vadim Gabuzov, 37, who delivered an emotional Slow Waltz that earned them a remarkable 23 points. Llambi deemed it the best performance of the evening. Former gymnast Fabian Hambüchen, 37, and Anastasia Maruster, 27, followed with a samba to ‘Stayin’ Alive’, scoring 20 points but failing to surpass Biedermann’s emotional performance. Lastly, Simone Thomalla, 59, and Evgeny Vinokurov, 34, concluded the show with a rocky performance that netted only 13 points. Despite their struggles, they advanced to the next round, while Roland Trettl and Kathrin Menzinger had to bid farewell to the competition.
