Children Experience the Thrill of Victory Up Close
The game was a rollercoaster of emotions for the young sports enthusiasts. The tension was palpable as the EC KAC clinched first place in the regular season with a commendable 2:0 win against HC Pustertal. John Patrick Platzer, president of ‘Soldiers with Heart,’ shared his thoughts: ‘It was a perfect atmosphere for the children, who got to witness the arena erupt in celebration right after the final whistle.’
A Dream Comes True for Young Fans
Marcelo was in awe as he drummed alongside KAC drummer Maximilian Wald. ‘I got to really ‘join in,’ and everyone clapped along. It was the best thing I’ve ever experienced,’ he exclaimed, reflecting on the unforgettable moment. Other children also received delightful gifts from the KAC fan store, including scarves, pucks, and stickers. Additionally, Armin Rumpold and Kerstin Karner from Stiege 19 distributed gift bags filled with treats and a KAC souvenir pin.
Special Jerseys Up for Auction
In conjunction with the ‘Let’s Watch KAC’ event, Soldiers with Heart is launching a silent auction for four special jerseys in men’s size XL, each signed by the entire team. ‘These jerseys are more than just keepsakes; they represent unforgettable moments with KAC. Both the children and the Red Jackets held these jerseys with pride—each one is a unique treasure,’ emphasized Platzer, a devoted KAC supporter. Proceeds from the auction will directly benefit future initiatives aimed at helping children and youths in need. Bidding starts at €100, and interested participants can submit their offers via email to [email protected].
United in Strength and Spirit
The unwavering support from KAC fan clubs is a crucial element of this initiative. ‘It’s wonderful that we can provide the children with not just a game experience, but one that they will cherish for years to come. Sports unite us, sending a powerful message,’ said Johann ‘Hansi’ Radl, chairman of the Stiege 19 fan club. The Vikings echoed this sentiment, with Franz Puff noting, ‘Seeing the children’s shining eyes is always a joy. We are thrilled to contribute our part to this wonderful cause.’
A Gesture of Solidarity with Villach
A particularly touching moment came from the Stiege 19 fan club, which displayed a banner to show solidarity with the city of Villach following a tragic incident that claimed the life of a 14-year-old. The banner read: ‘Separated in colors, united in grief. We are all Villach.’ John Patrick Platzer expressed his emotions, stating, ‘This moment resonated with all of us. It demonstrates that ice hockey transcends mere sport—it brings people together, regardless of boundaries. Our deepest condolences go out to the families affected by this heartbreaking event.’
