Following the recent debut of the exclusive Model Y limited edition, Tesla has unveiled the additional variants of its revamped electric SUV. Let’s delve into the pricing, release dates, and technical specifications.

On January 10, 2025, Tesla put an end to months of speculation by officially introducing the new Model Y. Just a few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to explore the redesigned SUV from various angles at a manufacturer center in Paris.

This event allowed us to share our initial impressions regarding the changes in the vehicle’s design, materials, and onboard features. Initially, the 2025 Model Y was available only in a “Launch Series” version priced at €60,990.

However, it was already known that Tesla intended to release additional variants, and now that has come to fruition! The updated Model Y lineup includes three unique versions.

Exploring the New Model Y Variants

Let’s begin with the base model, the Model Y Propulsion. Starting at €44,990 (excluding ecological bonuses), this version is equipped with a single rear motor, achieving a range of 500 km in the WLTP mixed cycle along with an impressive consumption rate of 13.9 kWh/100 km. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds.

Next, we have the Model Y Long Range Propulsion. This variant features a larger battery and 20″ wheels, providing an estimated range of 622 km in the WLTP mixed cycle. It completes the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 5.6 seconds. The entry price is €46,990, making it eligible for the ecological bonus.

At the top of the lineup is the Long Range all-wheel drive. This four-wheel-drive model showcases an impressive range (between 568 km and 586 km in the WLTP cycle based on wheel selection) and efficient consumption (ranging from 14.8 kWh/100 km to 15.3 kWh/100 km). It also boasts the fastest acceleration in the series, reaching 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. Though the upcoming Model Y Performance is expected to elevate these performance standards, this version is priced starting at €52,990, excluding options, and does not qualify for an ecological bonus.

Equipment Differences Across Model Y Versions

It’s important to note that there are notable differences in equipment among the various versions. For instance, the Propulsion version lacks access to the 20″ wheels which offer better aerodynamics. The audio systems are also less advanced in the Propulsion and Long Range versions, featuring a 9-speaker system compared to the 15-speaker setup with a subwoofer in the Long Range all-wheel drive.

Similarly, the upholstery and materials differ. The Propulsion and Long Range versions come with basic black fabric interiors, while the Long Range all-wheel drive offers Premium Nubuck upholstery. If you prefer white seats in the first two models, you’ll need to pay an additional €1,190.

Now, let’s discuss the release dates, which are not uniform across the three Model Y versions:

In terms of color options, you can choose from only five choices: the standard multi-layer pearlescent white, solid black (€1,300), Stealth gray (€1,300), Quicksilver metallic (€2,600), and the striking Ultra Red (€2,600).
