The Exciting Return of The Voice on TF1
Since the conclusion of Star Academy, fans have eagerly turned to The Voice, which airs every Saturday night on TF1. The beloved host, Nikos Aliagas, returns to guide us through another thrilling season, accompanied by four talented coaches. This year, Vianney is the sole coach returning from the previous season, while the legendary Florent Pagny makes a highly anticipated comeback after his courageous battle with lung cancer. His return has been met with enthusiasm from devoted fans of the show.
Joining the coaching panel this season are two fresh faces: the renowned Patricia Kaas and the dynamic Zaz. Over the last two weeks, viewers have enjoyed the first blind auditions, witnessing which teams the aspiring artists wish to join. Among the standout talents are Matt Pokora’s former partner, who has a close connection to Charles from Star Academy, and a young woman who showcases her skills at Paradis Latin with Kamel Ouali. Notably, one contestant has lent her voice to a character in the hit series Grey’s Anatomy.
Maag’s Journey and Unique Background
On Saturday, February 8, audiences were introduced to new talents, including Maag, who captivated everyone with her rendition of “Hold My Hand” by Lady Gaga, prompting all four coaches to turn their chairs. Maag is currently performing in the musical Starmania, portraying the character Stella Spotlight. However, her talent has also graced the screen in the acclaimed series Grey’s Anatomy, specifically in season 16, episode 20, where she voiced a patient named Vera Katano.
In an interview with Télé Loisirs, Maag shared, “I had played an Asian woman who was sick and could only sing, who could only speak by singing in the last seasons.” She has also contributed her voice to projects like Mentalist and Vikings, explaining, “I mostly did guest roles. I didn’t really have a lead role in a series.” Maag elaborated that her roles typically involved characters who appeared briefly before vanishing just as swiftly.
Interestingly, during the blind auditions aired on February 8, Maag was secretly pregnant. She chose to keep this news from the production initially, stating, “I didn’t say it right away because you never know how it evolves. I was waiting to be sure, to have had the first trimester ultrasound, to know that everything was fine.” She later revealed, “I told them when I was four months pregnant. I mentioned that if I progressed further, I could conceal it,” adding that her due date is at the end of March or early April. At 39 years old, Maag is currently seven months along, and her path to motherhood has been challenging due to her struggle with endometriosis.
