Vitaa Burglary: Meet the Four Suspected Masterminds Arrested in the Home Invasion Case

In late December 2023, Vitaa and her family experienced a traumatic home invasion by masked intruders who threatened them and stole luxury items. While no one was physically harmed, the incident left a lasting impact. Following the attack, arrests were made in connection with the case, linking the suspects to other crimes. Amidst the turmoil, Vitaa chose not to comment on recent controversies involving her friend Slimane but shared positive moments from her life, including performances and family time.

We remember! The distressing events unfolded at the close of December 2023 when Vitaa, alongside her husband and three children, was gearing up to welcome the New Year. In a shocking turn of events, three masked intruders invaded her residence in Rueil-Malmaison, Hauts-de-Seine, by forcefully breaking a bay window to gain access to the dressing room. The loud alarm system triggered, rousing all the inhabitants from their slumber. Thankfully, while no physical harm came to the family, the thieves attempted to intimidate the children with baseball bats and iron bars before making off with luxury bags and jewelry.

Amid the media storm surrounding this traumatic incident, the artist behind Choses qu’on fait took to her social media platforms to recount her harrowing experience. She expressed, ‘Last night, my family and I endured one of the most terrifying and traumatic nights of our lives. While we may think about such scenarios, nothing can truly prepare us for it, and I would not wish this suffering on anyone, not even my worst enemy. Vitaa opened up further about the incident during her documentary Vitaa: Je m’appelle Charlotte in November, sharing heart-wrenching details. ‘In the two rooms upstairs were my stepdaughter and my 20-month-old daughter. Suddenly, a man appeared in front of me, wielding a bat and wearing a hood, shouting: ‘Give me the money, give me the jewelry.’ My thoughts turned dark, and I feared for my life, she recalled.

Arrests Made in Connection with Other Cases

Recent developments indicate that Vitaa may soon confront her assailants. Reports suggest that Le Parisien has confirmed that ‘the four alleged masterminds and orchestrators have been apprehended’ on the morning of February 4 and subsequently taken into custody ‘at the first judicial police district (DPJ) of Paris’. The investigation, initially handled by the Territorial Security of Hauts-de-Seine (ST 92), has since been transferred to the DPJ following connections to two other similar incidents that occurred in the XIth and XVIth arrondissements of Paris.

The identities of the suspected criminals have been revealed: Mamadou C., aged 23, his brothers Mohamed and Sadioba D., along with 20-year-old Khyed M., who is reportedly referred to as Ben Landen by Le Parisien. He is ‘believed to be the mastermind behind the attempted home invasion of Anne-Sophie Lapix’ and her family in January 2024, ‘at their private hotel in the XVIth arrondissement of Paris’. Allegations suggest he even mentioned the ‘two Birkin [Hermès handbags]’ he reportedly stole from Vitaa’s home. This ‘team of specialists in celebrity home-jacking’ is set to face trial in the correctional court of Nanterre in March.

Vitaa Remains Neutral on Slimane’s Controversy

Currently in a more peaceful state of mind, Vitaa, who is on the verge of concluding a series of concerts, chose not to comment on the recent revelations for the time being. However, she did share moments from her time with Brigitte Macron at Disneyland Paris, partaking in the annual Pièces jaunes campaign, as well as images of her daughter Noa, who was born in 2022, joining her on stage during the rehearsals for her extended Zénith tour.

While attending Paris Fashion Week for Stéphane Rolland’s haute couture show last month, she refrained from discussing the serious allegations against her friend Slimane, with whom she has collaborated on two albums. During her appearance on the show C à vous, shortly after complaints against Slimane surfaced, Vitaa clarified that she did not intend to ‘speak on his behalf’. Candidly, she reflected on her history of being cast as a spokesperson for her artist friends, stating, ‘My entire life, I have been expected to represent all my artist friends. In the past, it was about Diam’s, and now it’s Slimane’, she concluded, firmly establishing her stance.
