Exciting preparations are underway for the Enfoirés show, “In the Land of the Enfoirés,” airing soon on TF1. Held in Montpellier, the event features iconic artists like Patrick Bruel mentoring newcomers and Santa, a Victoires de la Musique frontrunner, performing a tribute. Despite some challenges, including Kendji Girac’s struggles with choreography, the artists remain dedicated to supporting the Restos du Cœur initiative. Kendji, with a new album on the horizon, continues to inspire through his music and upcoming performances.
Exciting Preparations for the Enfoirés Show
In just a few weeks, the highly anticipated annual Enfoirés show, titled “In the Land of the Enfoirés,” will air on TF1. This year, the event took place in Montpellier from January 14 to 20, featuring a star-studded lineup of familiar faces. As always, seasoned members of the troupe were on hand to guide newcomers through the experience. Notably, singer Patrick Bruel, the most veteran participant, took the time to mentor Pierre Garnier as he embarked on this new journey, all while his children thankfully avoided the recent devastating fires in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Mimie Mathy made her return to the stage, albeit while confronting her own health challenges.
Artists Share Their Experiences and Challenges
One of the standout figures during this residency was singer Santa, who is currently a frontrunner for the upcoming Victoires de la Musique awards. She even made a heartfelt gesture towards the Enfoirés during Laurent Delahousse’s news segment on France 2, performing a few lines from the iconic anthem “The Song of the Restos.” This was followed by a glimpse into her personal journey since taking a break from the group Hyphen Hyphen. Santa was joined by Patricia Kaas, a long-time Enfoirés member from 1992 to 2011, who shared her recent decision to focus more on her personal life rather than her career. Kaas also discussed her role as a coach on the 14th season of “The Voice,” which recently premiered on the first channel.
However, not all performances went as planned. Kendji Girac, another beloved artist, openly critiqued his own performance during an interview with “Chante France.” He candidly admitted to struggling with the choreography and arriving late to rehearsals, humorously branding his experience a “disaster.” Despite the mishaps, he expressed his enjoyment of the overall experience and fondness for collaborating with his fellow artists. Kendji also praised the show’s concept, highlighting the incredible selection of songs and the shared mission to support those in need through the Restos du Cœur initiative.
Having participated in the Enfoirés for nearly a decade, Kendji first joined the troupe in 2016, only missing one year in 2021. Despite the challenges he faced in 2024 due to a serious accident, he remains committed to the cause. Recently, he released an intimate new album titled “Vivre,” featuring the ballad “If Only…” and the heartfelt single “I Changed,” dedicated to his partner Soraya Miranda. This album, crafted partly with the help of his friend Vianney, will be showcased live during a Zénith tour starting January 30, 2026, in Amiens. In the meantime, Kendji is set to perform at various summer festivals, including events in Nancy and Salon de Provence.
