Ève Gilles, Miss France 2024, is embracing her participation in ‘Dancing with the Stars’ with humor and determination. During a press event, she playfully interacted with Frank Leboeuf while expressing her goal to break the “Miss curse” that hinders beauty queens in dance competitions. Having previously taught dance, Ève is excited yet nervous about partnering with Nino Mosa. She aims to showcase her true self on the show and looks forward to improving her skills throughout the season.
Ève Gilles, the reigning Miss France 2024, has traded her crown for a pair of dancing shoes and a refreshing sense of humor. During the recent press event for the highly anticipated 14th season of ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ the 21-year-old beauty from the North playfully bantered with former football star Frank Leboeuf about their attire, which he joked resembled that of waiters.
‘Wait, there’s another one coming who will take care of tables 8, 9, and 10’, quipped the 1998 World Cup champion, but Ève took it all in stride, responding, ‘I don’t necessarily take myself seriously, but I am very much in this to win.’ With determination, she expressed her ambition to shatter the so-called “Miss curse” that has seen beauty queens struggle to shine on the dance floor. ‘If none win after a while, there’s a problem.’ She is ready to follow in Natasha St-Pier’s footsteps, competing alongside her partner, newcomer Nino Mosa.
Chasing Dreams with Enthusiasm
Reflecting on her journey to this moment, Ève shared, ‘I had submitted CVs everywhere’ with a deep desire to join ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
She smiled as she recounted, ‘I found the right mailbox, and my CV was well received. This show has always been a dream of mine, and every year, I make one of those dreams come true. I am overjoyed to be part of it.’
Preparing for the Dance Challenge
Before her reign as Miss France, Ève was teaching dance classes to children in her hometown, specializing in modern jazz. When asked about her experience, she confirmed, ‘Yes, exactly. I’ve always danced solo, never in pairs. The idea of dancing with someone else is a bit intimidating for me since I’m not naturally tactile. But I am so excited to be here that I will push through that fear!’
As the competition looms, she is mentally gearing up for the challenges ahead, stating, ‘A year as Miss France has definitely prepared me psychologically for ‘Dancing with the Stars!’ This show will help me get back into shape and regain my athleticism.’
Former contestants, such as Iris Mittenaere and Amandine Petit, have shared their insights with her, emphasizing the once-in-a-lifetime adventure that awaits. ‘They all told me to enjoy it as much as possible because it goes by so quickly.’
Ève playfully noted that if fellow contestant Lénie earns a 7/10, she might score around 3.5. ‘Lénie is clearly the one to beat; she’s the most prepared and comfortable on the dance floor.’
As she embarks on this journey, Ève is ready to reveal more of herself to the audience, stating, ‘I believe the show will introduce my true personality to the viewers. Some may be surprised by the real me, as Miss France often comes with a certain image.’
With a lighthearted disposition, Ève embraces her playful side, asserting, ‘Yes, I just joked with Frank Leboeuf, and I’m not afraid to have fun with my image.’
As a devoted viewer of ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ she enjoys the program each year. On the subject of the harsh judge Chris Marques, she candidly shared, ‘He terrifies the candidates the most. My aim is to stay focused and improve my scores as the competition progresses.’
