Join the Excitement at the Hunting and Fishing Expo

This weekend marks the continuation of the largest gathering of hunting and fishing manufacturers in the greater metropolitan area. For many years, passionate enthusiasts flocked to the Montreal hunting and fishing show at Place Bonaventure to explore the latest products designed for their favorite outdoor activities. However, since around 2010, a noticeable shift has occurred. Several manufacturers have begun to unveil their products throughout the year, leveraging various social media platforms and moving away from traditional events like this one.

In Montreal, the landscape has changed significantly. Exhibitor costs have skyrocketed, and few are willing to shell out $35 for parking, only to spend more on overpriced food. After 34 years of thrilling fans, the promoters have reluctantly moved the event away from downtown.

A New Era in Saint-Hyacinthe

In the spirit of renewal, Catherine Lapointe’s team bravely relocated the show to Saint-Hyacinthe last year, a move that proved successful. This year, they aim to breathe new life into the hunting and fishing industry by bringing together major players in the field. The expansive 120,000 sq ft exhibition hall at Espace Saint-Hyacinthe will host renowned brands such as Scotty Downriggers, Lews, Quantum, Strike King, and many more.

“We have over 160 exhibitors ready to showcase their best offerings across four main themes: outdoor activities, hunting, fishing, and motorized sports,” states show director Catherine Lapointe. Visitors can explore unique products, purchase gear from specialized shops, and plan nature excursions with seasoned guides. The range of items on display will include everything from vehicle rooftop tents to fishing lures and ATVs.

Attendees can also look forward to an unprecedented lineup of activities. There will be family-friendly zones, interactive demonstration areas, and engaging speakers like Michel Therrien and Fred Campbell. “You can try archery, laser shooting, and even learn how to craft traditional bows and arrows,” Lapointe adds. Furthermore, meet the strongman from Sportchief, Hugo Girard, and experience interactive sessions with various outdoor enthusiasts and organizations.

Discover Innovative Products

One of the highlights of the expo will be the introduction of cutting-edge products. For instance, Lews will showcase their new Custom Lite SS series reels, designed for optimal line storage. Long Range Hunter will exhibit their recent acquisition, X-Reload, which specializes in ammunition reloading supplies to enhance shooting precision.

Scotty Downriggers will unveil the Scotty Seeker set, a high-tech device that provides real-time data on depth, current speed, and temperature, directly to your phone. Additionally, the Mercury Marine app offers insights into your boat’s performance, such as GPS speed and fuel consumption, via Bluetooth connectivity.

For those who dread lugging heavy batteries, the new lithium iron phosphate batteries, like the RB100 RELiON, weigh just 26 lbs and come with a decade-long guarantee. These batteries recharge quickly and offer a significant advantage in terms of weight and efficiency.

Tickets for this much-anticipated event are available at $16 for adults, $12 for teens aged 13 to 17, and free for children under 12. A family pass for two adults and two kids is priced at $35.
