Well beyond controversy, nutritional advice and the financial market, there is milk, a source of comfort. From childhood, glasses of hot milk have been among the best solutions to soothe little sores. Today, milk is regaining its place in Quebecers’ refrigerators. The Plaisirs team has therefore chosen three recipes for gourmet drinks that put this creamy liquid in the foreground.
APPLE DELIGHT MILKSHAKE (Dairy Farmers of Canada recipe)
The addition of sweet potatoes gives this milkshake a delicious texture!
Servings | 3 1⁄4 cups (800 ml)
Preparation time | 10 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 cup (250ml) milk
1 cup (250 mL) vanilla yogurt
½ cup (125 mL) sweet potatoes, cooked and cooled
1 cup (250 mL) unsweetened applesauce, cold
2 tbsp. (30ml) chia seeds
½ tsp. (2.5 ml) ground cinnamon
PREPERATION
In a blender, puree all the ingredients.
Serve immediately.
ICED CHOCO-ORANGE DALGONA COFFEE (Van Houtte® recipe)
Dalgona coffee is a smoothie that originated in South Korea.

Preparation time | 15 minutes
INGREDIENTS
6 tbsp. Van Houtte® instant coffee
6 tbsp. white sugar
6 tbsp. hot water
2 tbsp. orange juice
2 tbsp. cocoa powder
Ice cubes
2 cups of milk
2 pinches of orange zest
2 pinches nutmeg, grated
PREPERATION
Combine first 5 ingredients in medium bowl.
Using an electric mixer on high speed, mix for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the mixture forms a stiff peak foam.
It may take 10-12 minutes to whip up.
Fill 2 cups halfway with ice cubes, and pour in the milk.
Add the mousse on top and garnish with orange zest and grated nutmeg.
MAPLE MATCHA LATTE (recipe from Maple from Quebec)
Matcha is a fine green tea powder with a strong taste. The addition of creamy milk and a little sugar makes it a highly comforting drink.

Cooking time | 5 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 liter (4 cups) milk
2 tbsp. tablespoons matcha green tea powder
2 tbsp. maple sugar
PREPERATION
Pour the milk into a saucepan. Heat over low heat until it simmers.
In a teapot, mix the matcha green tea and maple sugar well.
Pour half of the hot milk into the teapot and mix to obtain a very creamy latte.
Froth the other half of the milk using a whisk.
Serve the tea in pretty cups, garnished with milk froth.
