Unveiling the DS N°8: A Powerful Electric Option
In December 2024, the automotive world welcomed the DS N°8, an innovative electric vehicle boasting an impressive range of 750 km, made possible by its formidable 98 kWh battery. This remarkable feature sets the DS N°8 apart in a competitive market.
Pricing Insights and Options for the DS N°8
As anticipation builds, the Belgian configurator has launched, providing an exciting opportunity to explore the pricing and available options for this electric marvel. While the exact French prices are yet to be revealed, they are expected to differ slightly from the Belgian figures.
During its official introduction, DS hinted that the starting price for the 750 km range version would be “under 65,000 euros,” later confirming that it would be below 60,000 euros. The details are now clear: in Belgium, the DS N°8 begins at 58,025.99 euros, offering a commendable range of 571 km according to the WLTP cycle, thanks to its 73 kWh battery derived from the Peugeot E-3008.
For those aiming for the full 750 km range, the price climbs to 62,337.99 euros, remaining under the anticipated 65,000 euros. Additionally, an all-wheel-drive variant with 350 hp is available, capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, priced at 73,901.99 euros, reflecting the premium features of this high-end model.
While the DS N°8 may not be the cheapest option on the market, it holds its ground well against competitors. The model lineup is straightforward, featuring two trims: Pallas and Étoile. The Pallas trim includes 19-inch wheels, faux leather seats, a 16-inch connected screen, and adaptive cruise control for a comfortable driving experience.
Upgrading to the Étoile trim will set you back an additional 7,056 euros, but it unlocks a range of luxurious features such as matrix headlights, an Alcantara-lined interior, heads-up display, and hands-free access-start.
While option packs are available to further customize your N°8, the color choices are somewhat limited, with only five subdued options: black, white, two shades of gray, and dark blue. However, a two-tone option is offered, allowing you to cover the roof or extend the color to the hood for a more personalized look.
When pitted against rivals, the DS N°8 stands strong. In Belgium, the Volkswagen ID.7 starts at 60,165 euros with a range of 618 km, while the Audi A6 e-tron demands 64,900 euros for 622 km of range or 76,800 euros for the 750 km variant. The BMW i4, on the other hand, has a starting price of 57,600 euros for a range of 500 km.
With just a few weeks left until the French pricing details are confirmed, excitement continues to build. DS is also preparing for deliveries in Belgium starting mid-June, aligning with the initial timeline indicating a launch in the “beginning of the second semester of 2025.”
