Spotlight on Innovative Laptops

Among the myriad of new introductions at the Las Vegas Convention Center, a few standout devices have captured attention for their unique features. Lenovo, the world’s leading PC manufacturer, has emerged as a key innovator with two remarkable products: the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable AI PC and the Yoga Slim 9i.

The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable AI PC offers an impressive display expansion capability, allowing users to enlarge its 14-inch screen by approximately 50% using a simple hand gesture, transforming it into a 16.7-inch display. Set to launch in August 2025, this innovative notebook will start at a price of €2,799. In contrast, the Yoga Slim 9i features a hidden webcam beneath the display, a design element that allows for a more compact form factor. The Yoga Slim 9i is expected to be available from February, starting at €2,199.

Another noteworthy trend at CES is the integration of AI in notebooks. Samsung’s new Galaxy Book 5 Pro and Book 5 360 models exemplify this movement, optimized for Microsoft’s AI assistant, Copilot. When paired with a compatible Samsung phone, users can access Galaxy AI features such as live translation on a larger screen. These devices will be available in Germany starting in February, with prices beginning at €1,699 for the Galaxy Book 5 Pro and €1,499 for the Galaxy Book 5 360.

Acer introduces the Aspire Vero 16 under its eco-friendly Vero brand. This model features a casing made from recycled plastic and bio-based oyster shell material, ensuring durability with its MIL-STD-810H certification. Equipped with the powerful Intel Core Ultra 200H processor announced at CES, this notebook earned the CES 2025 Innovation Award. It is expected to launch in the second quarter, with the price yet to be revealed.

Finally, Razer aims to redefine gaming laptops with its Blade 16 (2025). This sleek device combines the GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 chip, all within a remarkably thin 15-millimeter chassis, making it the thinnest gaming notebook Razer has ever produced. Anticipated for release in the first quarter, the pricing details remain undisclosed, although the previous model started at €3,199. For those seeking a more budget-friendly option, Acer’s Helios Neo 16 AI gaming laptop is expected to retail below €3,000 while maintaining a slim profile at 19.9 millimeters thick.
