Stéphane Plaza’s Trial: Controversial Text Message Reveals His Hulk-Like Strength After Finger Injury

Stéphane Plaza, the M6 host, is facing legal challenges stemming from allegations of physical and psychological abuse by former partners, leading to formal complaints. A trial, initially set for August 2024, was postponed due to concerns over his mental state. As the proceedings unfold, Plaza’s lawyer has criticized the investigation, while controversial remarks made in court have ignited social media backlash. Text messages revealed during the trial may further illuminate the allegations against him.

Stéphane Plaza’s Legal Troubles: A Timeline of Controversy

For several months now, Stéphane Plaza, the prominent host of M6, has found himself embroiled in a significant controversy. This saga began in September 2023 when an investigation by Médiapart brought to light troubling allegations against him, including claims of physical and psychological abuse towards former partners. As a result, two of these individuals have filed formal complaints for ‘habitual physical and/or psychological violence by cohabitant’ spanning from August 2018 to September 2022. This prompted the Paris prosecutor’s office to initiate an investigation in October 2023.

The Courtroom Drama Unfolds

The trial for Stéphane Plaza was scheduled to commence on August 28 but was postponed due to concerns regarding his ‘psychological fragility.’ Recently declared ‘fit to appear’ by his lawyer, Me Carlo Alberto Brusa, Plaza attended the Paris correctional court on January 9, 2025, accompanied by his legal team. While he has consistently denied the allegations, asserting that he is the target of a conspiracy, he faces serious consequences, including a potential 10-year prison sentence and fines reaching €150,000 if convicted.

During the proceedings, Plaza’s lawyer criticized what he described as a ‘biased investigation.’ Arriving at the Paris judicial court early in the morning, Plaza was called to address the accusations made by the two plaintiffs, who were also present in court. In his initial statements, Brusa raised multiple procedural issues, claiming a lack of access to critical documents. He expressed respect for the women involved but suggested that they were acting out of emotional turmoil stemming from their breakups, seeking to ‘destroy’ his client. Brusa further condemned the judicial process, branding it a ‘tsunami’ that has swept up the M6 host.

Contentious remarks made by Brusa regarding the nature of the complaints stirred outrage on social media. He argued that labeling four or five incidents over several years as ‘habitual violence’ was misleading. This sparked a debate among internet users, particularly after a journalist, Vincent Vantighem, reported on Brusa’s courtroom claims. The lawyer’s comments, trivializing the serious issues at hand, led to further criticism, especially when he remarked about the number of incidents in personal relationships.

Furthermore, the trial revealed text messages exchanged between Plaza and the plaintiffs, shedding light on his demeanor following a violent episode. One message allegedly stated, ‘WoW. What strength I have!? I have the strength of Hulk…’ in connection to the incident where one plaintiff accused him of causing her significant physical harm. As the trial progresses, more details are expected to surface, providing deeper insights into the events leading to this legal confrontation.
