Top Picks from the Lynx Lineup
The Finnish branch of BRP is making significant strides in the North American snowmobile market, and Garneau has identified three standout models. His premier choice is the RAVE RE 600R E-TEC, renowned for its outstanding flexibility thanks to its versatile suspension system. The rear suspension is non-coupled, allowing for quick weight transfers. Furthermore, it features top-of-the-line, highly adjustable shock absorbers.
The 600R E-TEC engine is a new addition to the Lynx family, delivering a smooth, responsive, and powerful performance. The clutch system ensures remarkable responsiveness, making this snowmobile incredibly stable even on bumpy terrains. The robust braking system also offers excellent feedback, enhancing the overall riding experience.
Notably, this model reintroduces the Ice Ripper XT track, boasting 1.5-inch lugs, an upgrade from last year’s 1.25 inches, significantly improving traction.
“This snowmobile instills confidence through its solid feel and exceptional mechanical integrity,” Garneau notes.
Garneau’s Additional Favorites
Next in line is the XTerrain Re 850 E-TEC. Garneau praises its powerful engine, which provides immediate responses when needed. He highlights its impressive stability and performance during dynamic driving and on uneven surfaces.
Equipped with high-end, easily adjustable shock absorbers, the XTerrain also features a non-coupled rear suspension that allows for remarkable weight transfer when accelerating. Its grippy track ensures excellent off-road traction, making it perfect for adventurous cross-country riding.
The standard 10.25-inch interactive dashboard adds a modern touch, contributing to the confident handling that this snowmobile is known for.
Garneau’s final choice is the Brutal RE 850 E-TEC, which he describes as a utility snowmobile with sporty characteristics that make it a joy to ride. With a powerful engine that reacts instantly, it offers thrilling weight transfer during off-road adventures. The non-coupled rear suspension and the impressive 20×154-inch track with 2.4-inch lugs provide exceptional traction.
He refers to it as a true powerhouse, further enhanced by the new adjustable KYB PRO 46 EA-3 R Kashima shock absorber at the rear, which significantly boosts its versatility and performance.
Exciting New Releases for 2025
Looking ahead to 2025, Lynx is set to unveil the RAVE GLS, a model that pays homage to the original sporty snowmobile launched by Lynx 40 years ago—the GSL 3300. This new model embraces the classic colors that reflect the rich heritage of the Finnish brand and features the powerful Rotax 850 E-TEC Turbo R engine, complete with an advanced injection and cooling system, along with a standard 10.25-inch touchscreen.
Additionally, the RAVE RE will now be available with the celebrated Rotax 850 E-TEC engine, marking its debut in North America for this model. The XTerrain lineup will also feature the RE model powered by the 900 ACE Turbo R engine, which will be mounted on the innovative Radien 2 chassis, offering an easily removable transfer arm and LED lighting.
Moreover, the Shredder series is receiving upgrades as well, with the RE version focusing on acrobatic capabilities now equipped with KYB PRO 46 EA-3 R shock absorbers. However, the high-speed compression adjustment will no longer be available, and the lift block has been lowered from 145 mm to 120 mm, enhancing its performance.
