Roborock Qrevo Curv Review: Unleashing Power in a Stylish Robot Vacuum Design

Roborock is making strides in the robot vacuum industry with the launch of the Qrevo Curv, which combines advanced features at a premium price of €1499.99. This model boasts innovative hair management technology, an impressive suction power of 18,500 Pa, and a design that facilitates effective cleaning on various surfaces. With smart navigation capabilities and user-friendly features, the Qrevo Curv aims to cater to diverse consumer needs while enhancing home cleaning efficiency.

Roborock’s Bold Move in the Robot Vacuum Market

Roborock is navigating a highly competitive landscape, facing challenges not only from well-established brands but also from emerging Chinese companies like Dreame. To maintain its edge, Roborock focuses on its core belief: prioritizing innovation while offering a diverse range of products. This ensures that there’s something for every need and budget. Let’s delve into the latest addition to their lineup, the Qrevo Curv, which proudly represents the Qrevo family.

As we explore Roborock’s extensive catalog, it’s evident that the variety can be overwhelming, even for seasoned industry insiders. The traditional categorization of entry-level, mid-range, and premium products is somewhat blurred with the Qrevo Curv, as it boasts an array of features and innovations that align it with the S series—the brand’s premium offering.

Pricing and Availability

Unveiled at the Berlin IFA 2024 trade show, the Qrevo Curv is now available for purchase at a price point of €1499.99. While this is €500 more than the Qrevo MaxV we previously reviewed, it also matches the launch price of the S8 MaxV Ultra, which is currently discounted to €1299. This promotional pricing could suggest that a new model may be introduced soon.

Unlike the mid-range Qrevo models, the Curv is exclusively available in white and utilizes the same consumables as its predecessors. Its design features a fixed side brush and magnetic mop pads, along with a filter located in the dustbin. The vacuum comes with a pre-installed bag in the docking station and includes an extra bag in the box, which is a thoughtful addition. Consumables are readily accessible, whether through official channels or compatible alternatives, with prices for a pair of mop pads at €15.99, dust bags at €17.99 for a pack of three, and washable filters at €32.99. While these prices are somewhat steep, they are a necessary investment for maintaining the vacuum’s efficiency.

Additionally, a specific detergent is available for purchase, which will not void the manufacturer’s warranty in case of issues, priced at €21.99 for 480 ml.

Design and Features of the Qrevo Curv

Upon first glance, the Qrevo Curv resembles the Qrevo MaxV and other robot vacuums on the market, featuring a circular design with a height of 103 mm. This measurement includes the turret housing the navigation system’s LDS laser. The top of the device has a standard appearance with two buttons—one to wake the device and start cleaning, and another to return it to its base. Notably, zone cleaning remains exclusive to the S series. Accessing the dustbin, which has a capacity of 325 ml, and the dust filter is straightforward, with the dust being emptied into the station at the end of each cleaning cycle.

The Qrevo Curv features an 80 ml water tank that is not easily accessible, and the sides of the vacuum are equipped with various sensors, a camera for obstacle detection, and a bumper. The robot is crafted from high-quality glossy white plastic, giving it a modern aesthetic.

Advanced Hair Management and Enhanced Performance

Turning the Qrevo Curv over reveals its innovative anti-hair strategy. Recognizing that hair is a common nemesis for robot vacuums, especially in homes with pets, Roborock has introduced the DuoDivide central brush, consisting of two rollers designed to capture hair effectively without tangling. This feature has been validated by SGS and TÜV Rheinland.

Additionally, the redesigned side brush is mounted on a motorized arm, allowing it to reach corners better and prevent hair from wrapping around its axis. The front omnidirectional wheel also incorporates a small brush that cleans itself during operation, ensuring optimal performance.

Powering all these features is a new motor that generates a staggering 18,500 Pa of suction power, significantly higher than the Qrevo MaxV’s 7000 Pa and the S8 MaxV Ultra’s 10,000 Pa. This powerful motor is supported by a robust 6400 mAh battery, enabling extended cleaning sessions.

For added efficiency, the right mop pad is mounted on a motorized arm that allows it to clean edges effectively, rotating at a maximum of 200 RPM. The Qrevo Curv also introduces the AdaptiLift chassis, enabling the robot to lift itself up to 10 mm, allowing it to navigate various floor types, including thick carpets.

Roborock continues to utilize its Reactive AI obstacle recognition technology, which can identify 62 object types through its RGB camera. The PreciSense LiDAR facilitates smooth navigation and precise mapping of the environment. Moreover, the SmartPlan function adjusts the vacuum’s settings based on user habits for optimal operation. The Curv is even capable of recognizing pets, switching to silent mode to avoid startling them, and can explore the home to locate them, allowing for interaction and even capturing moments through photos.
