Miss France 2025: A New Era Begins
After an impressive reign as Miss France 2024, Ève Gilles is set to pass the torch to a new queen on Saturday, December 14. The highly anticipated event will unfold at the Futuroscope Arena, with live coverage on TF1. As tradition dictates, the legendary Jean-Pierre Foucault will take the helm as host, joined by Cindy Fabre, the director of the prestigious competition.
The Contestants: A Diverse Lineup
This year, 30 regional Misses will step into the spotlight, showcasing the fruits of their extensive preparation journey in Ivory Coast. During their time there, they honed their runway skills, learned how to recover gracefully from a fall, and practiced their public speaking abilities. The contestants also took on the renowned general knowledge test. While their official portraits have already been revealed, more details about each contestant will emerge during the election night. As the evening progresses, 15 candidates will be shortlisted, followed by a further reduction to 5, culminating in the announcement of the grand winner. The selection process will involve a 50/50 split between public votes and jury decisions.
The jury, chaired by the celebrated figure of French music, Sylvie Vartan, comprises six talented women. Among them is the well-known dancer, choreographer, and actress Fauve Hautot, recognized for her appearances on “Dancing with the Stars.” Joining her are stylist and TV host Cristina Cordula, creator of “Les Reines du shopping,” along with the multi-talented Nawell Madani, who is currently touring as a comedian, actress, and director. The jury also features Marie-José Pérec, a celebrated triple Olympic champion in athletics, and Flora Coquerel, Miss France 2014, who is now a successful model and entrepreneur. Rounding out this star-studded panel is Franco-Georgian pianist Katia Buniatishvili.
This year’s competition will showcase a remarkably diverse group of Misses. In a shift from previous years, there are no age restrictions for contestants, paving the way for Angélique Angarni-Filopon, the 34-year-old Miss Martinique, to compete. The average age of the Miss France 2025 candidates stands at 23.5 years. Furthermore, the inclusion of tattooed contestants and mothers reflects a broader range of representation. As the excitement builds, the spotlight is on to see who will claim the coveted Miss France crown this year.
